.Winter Blues.

Hey guys!!!
We're back this time with a new post. All about winter blues. Blue is a very versatile colour. Expecially in winters since we tend to gravitate towards darker colours. Blue in that case can be a life saver, so many shades to choose from!
This particular outfit is my winter staple. I love pulling out dresses from my summer/spring wardrobe and paring them with blazers, jackets and adding stockings for unshaved legs (come on all of us hate it during the winters). Sneakers are another fun element to pair with dresses, since it gives your outfit an edge. You can always dress the outfit up. Just put on a pair of heels, exchange the sling for a clutch, slap on a bright lipstick and you're good to go!

Outfit Details:
Blazer: DIY (I used to wear this in school )
Skater dress: Forever 21
Sling bag: Borrowed ( Mum's)
Shoes: Converse
Sunglasses: Thrifted (Colaba Causeway, Mumbai)

Hopefully you guys enjoyed the post and it helps you in the future. Keep in touch with us throught our facebook page www.facebook.com/SisterMash and tweet us at @becauseunicorns and @gunjanrathore

.Winter Florals.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
We hope 2014 is a year filled with happiness, love, travel and all the good things in life. We wish you all the luck! Hope you bought in the New Year surrounded by loved ones.
We’re back in the New Year with a new post all about winter florals. Yes, florals in the winters!! It’s hard to believe, right?  Floral prints have been one of the leading trends this season. Very popular throughout the runways across the world.

Now the thing is I wasn’t very fond of this particular pair of pants. I got them as a gift and you know how it is. They stayed in the back of my closet for the longest time until I decided my resolutions for this year. One of them happens to be to try and use the rest 80% of my closet instead of the usual 20%. And that’s how this outfit came about. And guess what, I think I'm in love with the pants. In this outfit, I’ve paired the pants with a solid black sweater and brown strappy heels. I went with the one solid colour for the top because I feel the pants are loud and the black helps in toning it down.  And I went for the brown heels to break the monotony of the black in the outfit.

Outfit Details:
Black sweater - Forever 21
Floral pants - Honey
Brown heels - South Ex, New Delhi (I rattled my brain hard on this one and I just can't remember the name of the shop)
Bow sling - Stolen from the bestie! (Forever New though)
Arm candy - Thrifted (Colaba Causeway,Mumbai)

Hopefully I’ll be able to break out of my black clothes ‘shell’ in 2014! It's really hard guys! :(

New Years Eve's Glam: Part II

Hey Guys!
I'm back with the second part of our new years series. Can you believe it's almost 2014!? 2013 went by so fast. No worries let us welcome 2014 with lots of happiness and joy. And of course in style! I'm super excited for 2014. I hope you have an amazing one.

New years for me all about dancing and spending the last night of the year with your family and having a jolly time. During this time we need to keep our clothes comfy and stylish at the same time. How do we do that? Pick a dress in a solid colour, as i have in black. Pair it with a very different coloured blazer or jacket. Always remember to add a statement piece to catch others eyes. Another tip for all you dance-o-holics out there, please please remember to carry a pair of separate flats if you plan on wearing high heels, save your feet the torture! I seriously love this outfit and plan on wearing it this new years.

Outfit Details:
Olive green jacket - Thrifted
Black maxi - Forever 21
Black bow open toe wedges - Tresmode
Black and gold necklace - Thrifted (Colaba Causeway)
Rings - Thrifted (various)

I hope this helps you all tweet us your photos at @becauseunicorns and @gunjanrathore. Keep in touch with us through our Facebook page (like and share please!) or email us at sistermash@gmail.com.

New Year Eve's Glam : Part I

Hey guys!
How excited are you for New Years eve? Are your plans set?! What are you planning to wear? Yes, I'm aware the last day of the year can get a little overwhelming. But don't worry Sister Mash is here to help you out. I'm here with 2 different outfits which can give you ideas to look drop dead gorgeous without much fuss. A very happy new year in advance and hope you guys have an amazing time!

This outfit has all the elements for being fun, outgoing and vivacious. Even though this outfit is all black, it is very flattering. The accessories and the shoes add colour to the outfit and succeed in lifting the outfit. This outfit is perfect if you're planning to dance the night away (like I am), just remember to carry a pair of cute flats to save your feet from all the pain!

Outfit Details:
Black top - Thrifted (Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi)
Pencil skirt -  Forever 21
Red peep toes - Tresmode
Necklace -  Thrifted (Linking Road, Bandra)
Black clutch -  Forever New
Accessories - Thrifted (Colaba Causeway)

Moving on to the next outfit, its more relaxed and laid back but in no way less stylish. Its a perfect outfit for an intimate get together at a friend's or casual party. Its comfortable and very accessible. You can have fun with your hair, just plait it to the side or make a low romantic bun. If you're going to dance just lose the jacket and let  your hair down. Colours in the outfit are very fall/winter. Don't forget to use make up that complement these colours. Replace the heels with booties and the outfit becomes biker chic! You're bound to be the talk of the town. Go have fun!

Outfit Details:
Sequined tank top - Thrifted (Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi)
Black jeans - Thrifted (Linking Road, Bandra)
Faux leather jacket - Forever 21
Black heels - Tresmode
Accessories - Thrifted (Colaba Causeway)

. Monochrome Madness .

Hey guys!

Hope you guys are doing well and are thoroughly enjoying the monsoons! We know we've been ignoring Sister Mash, its been a crazy couple of months. *obligatory apology inserted here*
So one of the most popular trends this season are the monochromatic styles. They are easy to style and are extremely flattering to any body type. Monochromatic clothing doesn't only mean pairing black with white but bold colors. Summertime monochrome calls for hot pinks, minty greens and primary blues. Of course, all-white or pastels are always an option, with hints of ivory or cream to streamline your ensemble. Though in our post we've stuck to the traditional black and white. Leave us a message on Facebook.com/SisterMash if you want to see more variations of this look!

Janvi's Outfit:

I'm in love with this look!!! AHHHHHH. I am pretty sure that most of you must have noticed that I tend to gravitate toward monochromatic styles. I believe in the philosophy that less is more. The monochrome trend is very IN this season.  I am in love with this outfit. It is a very chic and classy option. I would probably wear this outfit to a night out. To tone the outfit down, the heels can be replaced with sporty converse or a pair of thong sandals.

Janvi is wearing:
  • White lace peplum top - Ginger
  • Black jeans - Pantaloons
  • Brown pumps - Tresmode
  • Watch - Colaba Causeway
  • Blue bracelet - Colaba Causeway
Gunjan's Outfit:
So basically whenever I plan to go out I invariably end up wearing black. So this style is right up my alley. Since my ensemble is all black, I've tried to break monotony with the gold spiked necklace and the nude heels. Swap the heels with gold flats and the necklace with a bright scarf to dress down this look. In terms of make up, I don't have a lot on but to avoid looking washed out I went with red lips. A dash of a bold lipstick really help in pulling a look like this together.

Gunjan is wearing:
  • Black Jeans - Linking Road, Bandra
  • Black beaded top - Sarojini , Delhi
  • Nude heels - Paprika
  • Studded necklace - Colaba Causeway
Share your pictures with us of your monochromatic outfits on Facebook! Hope you enjoyed the post.
Cheers!
Much love,
G&J
