.Camo.

Hey guys!
2014 is in full swing and as we uncover the fashion trends there is no way we can ignore the camouflage or the camo. Its been around for years, never fully disappearing. Infact, Vogue magazine picked up on the use of camo print in terms of fashion as early as 1943. There is a sort of love-hate relationship with this print. Its either the flavour of the month or the ultimate fashion faux-pas. Even though the print has a masculine and tough vibe, it totally works for both men and women. It is now being in re-interpreted at a large scale, getting a modernised and chic make over. Its a rough-and-tumble situation with the fashion addicts of the world putting their own crazy spin to this trend.

Camo is the perfect way to give an outfit a little edginess. But it can be tricky to style if you're just jumping on the bandwagon. My main tip would be to start small. Let the print be only one part in your outfit. I've paired my shorts with a black sweater and black boots. To bring a little extra to the outfit I put on my teal socks and pulled them enough to just show a peek of colour. A very comfortable and versatile outfit, you can wear this anywhere you fancy!

Outfit Details:
Black Sweater - Forever 21
Camo Shorts - Thrifted (Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi)
Black Boots -  Forever 21
Teal Socks - Cotton World
Aviators - Ray-Ban

.Denim Dreams.

Hey guys!!
Hope your week is treating you fabulously! Here's a mid-week treat for you guys! :)

Denims Denims Denims!! Denims are versatile, they're tough, durable, easy to work with, fashionable, warm, the list is endless! Originally worn by workers, they traveled from cowboy movies to casual wear worn by soldiers during the World War II. During the 1950's denims acted as a sign of rebellion and it was the 1980's when the jeans finally made it's breakthrough into high street clothing. Designers like Gucci started manufacturing jeans. Different types and styles of jeans were created, the flares were dropped and in came the super skinny jeans, acid washes and little Denim jackets. Denim really has taken the fashion industry by storm and are here to stay.

Janvi's Outfit:
Denims particularly jeans always stay in fashion. But recently denims used in other clothing as shirts, skirts etc have made a comeback in fashion. Denims are very versatile and can be worn for every occasion. This denim shirt can also be worn as a jacket or a blazer. To add that extra bit to your outfit you can add a trendy necklace or you can put your hair in a bun and add chandelier earrings.

Janvi is wearing:
Aztec denim shirt (Thrifted) - Topman
Jeans - Pantaloons
Spiked black ballet flats- Ginger
Spiked black and gold necklace (Thrifted) - Colaba Causeway
Watch (Thrifted) - Colaba Causeway
Crossbody bag with gold hardware - Rhysetta
Sunglasses (Thrifted) - Colaba Causeway
Gunjan's Outfit:

Denim shirts are the latest trend to take the world of the fashion by storm. You can see them everywhere these days. They're affordable and very very easy to style. Pair them with leggings, jeans or jeggings ( best of both worlds ;) ). Here, I have paired the shirt with pale pink jeans to create a sort of contrast. I'm not the biggest fan of colour coordinating my outfits and accessories..contrast is the key! Unless we're talking about black, then I'm the complete opposite.

Gunjan is wearing:
Denim shirt (Thrifted) - American Eagle
Pale pink jeans (Thrifted) - Linking road, Bandra
Brown ballet flats - Ginger
Sling bag - Forever New
Watch (Thrifted) - Colaba Causeway
Earrings- Tribal Zone
Arm bands (Thrifted) - Colaba Causeway

. Of Nerdy Glasses and Shorts .

Hey you guys!!
Hope you're being awesome as always. Its just getting crazy right? The heat we mean. Well, we're sure this outfit post will help you beat the heat.

Janvi's Outfit:
This outfit probably something that I would wear on an everyday basis. I love this checked shirt and its one of my wardrobe favourites!! I am always looking for a excuse to wear it. This shirt also has a asymmetric hem line and studs at the collar making it my favorite piece of clothing
(asymmetric hem line + Studs = LOVE). This outfit is very causal and can be dressed up by adding a pair of disco pants or normal pair of black denims instead of the shorts, you can also add in a pair of pumps or wedges.

Janvi is wearing:
  • Flannel studded shirt - Thrifted (Colaba Causeway)
  • Shorts - Levi
  • White shoes - Converse
  • Ring - Thrifted
  • Black Cloth bracelet

Gunjan's Outfit:

This is the perfect outfit to chill with friends. In summers, I literally live in my shorts. These pair of denims were actually full length, the fit wasn't to my liking so I chopped them off and voila the perfect summer accessory to have! I know the nerdy glasses are a bit over the top.. but frankly who cares..Whatever rocks your style boat I say!! Also, you can easily turn this into a beach outfit by losing the scarf and belt and exchanging the shoes for some cute flip-flops.

Gunjan is wearing:
  • Grey sleeveless top - Thrifted
  • Denim shorts (previously jeans) - Levi's
  • Purple shoes - Max
  • Belt - Max
  • Printed scarf - Thrifted (Sarojini Market, New Delhi)

. Maxi Love .

Hi guys!
How have you been. Hope you are doing well. Sorry we've been M.I.A, it's just been a crazy month filled with lots of travelling and well sadly, sickness. Really sorry for the delayed post.

Maxi dresses are one of the MOST comfortable pieces of clothing that you will ever find. The trend of maxi dresses actually started way back in the '60s, by reputed designer Oscar De La Renta who designed a beautiful full length cotton lace dress for the Elizabeth Arden salon. It became a fashion phenomenon after this. The '60s movie Dr. Zhivago is also responsible for the maxi gaining popularity amongst the masses. The leading designers of the '70s such as Dior, YSL, Cardin, all created their signature maxi styles. Even though the popularity of  maxi dresses went down in the '80s (replaced by ra ra skirts and other trends) they were back in action by the mid 90s and the trend has been around ever since.

How to style the maxi:
As maxis are now longer than ever be sure that your dresses fall to the perfect spot – never wear a dress that trails on the ground – if you are wearing flats the hem should fall to your anklebone, not below.
It’s a myth that shorter girls can’t wear maxis, but it is wise for petite girls to choose more tailored silhouettes as dresses that are both long and billowing will simply swamp a smaller figure.
Maxi dresses also suit women of all body types. Curvy, skinny or anything in between maxi dresses will make you look beautiful and graceful. Our outfit's are minimally accessorized as we didn't want to take attention away from the maxi.

Janvi's Outfit:

. Casual Fridays .

Hello there!
Hope you guys are doing very well!
So we decided to that our next post should be an everyday wear/casual post and something that is slightly less fancy.

Janvi's Outfit :

I'm wearing a top with tiny polka dotes and flared sleeves. I personally really really love the accessories I've paired the outfit with. This outfit is very casual and can be worn anywhere. A fun tip to keep in mind while shopping clothes is that it's better if you pick up pieces that can be dressed up as well as dressed down (unless you're looking occasion based clothing). A single piece of clothing can give a wide variety of combination for outfits of different kinds.

Janvi is wearing :
  • Flared sleeve top - Cotton World
  • Jeans - Pantaloons
  • Ring, Black beaded bracelet - Karigar
  • Charm bracelet - Gifted
  • Black flat pumps - Max
  • Purse - Gifted

Gunjan's outfit:

This outfit is probably one of my most favourite combinations ever. It has a whole play of contrasting elements and that really helps to make an outfit unique. More than the clothes its the accessories that excite me this time. The reason being that the three absolute favourites of mine in this outfit (the aviators, the silver kada and the simple white bead chain (here worn as a bracelet)) happen to belong to someone else. The aviators were my father's and he bought them when he first got commissioned as an army officer, so this pair happens to be over 25 years old. The silver kada belongs to my mother, who bought it from Rajasthan. Over the years we both have misplaced this kada so many times, but it has somehow always managed to find its way back to us. The third accessory happens to belong to my grandmother and I have seen this around her neck ever since I was puny little kid. Couple of years ago she gave it to me and even though its an inexpensive piece of jewellery I will always cherish it. :)
Moving on to the clothes, my outfit is very versatile. The shirt itself can be worn in a couple of styles as displayed below. The gold knotted sandals are an outright contrast to the rest of the outfit but that's what adds to the charm ladies!

Gunjan is wearing:
  • Blue shirt - Thrifted (Janpath, New Delhi)
  • Black lace inner - Code (Marks and Spencer)
  • Black Jeans - Thrifted (Linking Road, Bandra)
  • Gold knotted sandals - Westside
  • Leopard print statement ring - Karigar
  • Aviators, silver kada, white beaded necklace - Gifted and borrowed ;)

. Glam it Up .

We both love our trends but don't follow them blindly. We tend to put our own twist to it cause that's just how we roll. ..LOL..not really..but you get the gist.
This outfit post (being our first) we decided to keep it simple!

Janvi's outfit :

I took the plain old boring striped top and glammed it up with a asymmetric skirt and a pair of wedges. I really love the combination and it is a perfect outfit for a dinner date or an evening out with friends. To make this outfit more interesting a bright colored clutch or even a pair of bright drop earrings can be worn.

Janvi is wearing:
  • Striped top - Thrifted (Linking Road, Bandra)
  • Asymmetric skirt - Ginger
  • Black bow wedges - Tresmode
  • Earrings and bracelet - Thrifted (Hill Road, Bandra)
  • Brown sling bag - Pushkar leather market (Puskhar, Rajasthan)

Gunjan's outfit:

I bought this skirt years ago from Sarojini Market, New Delhi and it has been lying in my closet ever since, so I decided it was time for an outing for this adorable piece. I'm wearing this with a coral-y pink lace collared top along with flat pumps in tan to add brightness to the outfit. This can be dressed up with tan/brown pair of heels. Furthermore, I'm carrying a rainbow clutch to add a touch of contrast and I've kept the accessories fairly simple. Its your quintessential 'day' outfit and it can worn for a brunch with your someone special or a trip to the movies.

Gunjan is wearing:
  • Lace collared top - Max
  • Sequined paisley skirt - Thrifted (Sarojni Market, Delhi)
  • Flat pumps in tan - Max
  • Rainbow clutch -  Gifted
  • Accessories - Thrifted

Much love!
